Otbasy Bank has announced the disbursement of initial educational capital for five-year-old children under the state-sponsored "Keleshek" initiative.

During the first half of this year, 3.9 billion tenge in state funding will be deposited into the AQYL educational accounts of 15,085 children who turned five. For those reaching age five in the second half of the year, funds will be transferred in February 2027. By year-end, the program will cover 29,099 children, bringing total state assistance to 7,5 billion tenge.

To maintain this initial capital, parents must make annual deposits until the child reaches adulthood or enters an educational institution. The minimum annual contribution for this year stands at 24 MCI (103,800 tenge), reduced to 12 MCI (51,900 tenge) for socially vulnerable households. Orphans and children left without parental care are exempt from mandatory annual deposits.

Savings in AQYL deposits grow through an annual bank yield of 13.84% (with an APY starting at 14.75%) alongside a state premium of 5% to 7%, depending on the beneficiary category. Upon reaching age 18, accumulated funds can be combined with payouts from the "National Fund for Children" program to cover tuition fees. Since the launch of the initiative, 35,070 children have received initial educational capital totaling 8.2 billion tenge through Otbasy Bank.
