Trump Administration Revokes Over 175,000 Visas in Immigration Crackdown

As part of a broader push to tighten immigration controls, the administration of US President Donald Trump has revoked more than 175,000 visas issued to foreign nationals. The action was confirmed by the US Department of State.

According to official statements, the visa revocations target individuals who violated the terms of their stay, committed criminal offenses, incited violence against American citizens, abused the immigration system, or posed potential threats to national security.

The majority of these revocations followed encounters with law enforcement. Key grounds for cancellation included assault, driving under the influence (DUI), theft, and drug-related offenses. Additionally, individuals facing charges related to rape, sexual assault, kidnapping, and human trafficking had their visas rescinded.

In a separate move, a US embassy in North Africa canceled over 100 visas tied to individuals engaging in birth tourism. The State Department also revoked the visas of several foreign nationals who publicly praised the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Earlier this year, the State Department reported revoking over 100,000 visas, which was previously cited as an unprecedented milestone.

These actions follow two executive orders recently signed by President Trump aimed at restricting birthright citizenship. The White House stated those measures are designed to curb birth tourism practices across the country.
