A Major Social Media Transformation: How Instagram Could Change Forever if Meta Loses Groundbreaking Lawsuit

One of the largest legal battles in social media history is on the horizon. Led by California and New York, 30 US states have filed a massive lawsuit against Meta, demanding over $1 trillion in damages and sweeping structural changes to its core algorithms. If the tech giant loses, platforms like Instagram and Facebook could be transformed beyond recognition.

State officials accuse Meta of exploiting young users and knowingly embedding addictive features that harm the mental health of children and teenagers.
