Researchers in the United States have uncovered a surprising yet straightforward secret to strengthening marital bonds. A study conducted by specialists at Brigham Young University reveals that couples who work out together experience fewer arguments and significantly better mutual understanding.

The CREATE project analyzed the lifestyles of 1,693 young American families. The findings indicate that shared physical activities - such as jogging, walking, or hitting the gym together—actively improve partners' listening skills, conflict-resolution abilities, and capacity to tackle problems as a team. For many couples, this shared routine provides a much-needed break from daily chores and screen time, fostering genuine, uninterrupted connection.

Interestingly, while about 60 percent of married individuals report working out regularly, only one-third of them actually share these fitness sessions with their spouse. Experts note that the easiest and most popular approach is simply taking an evening walk. It offers a relaxed environment to unplug from external distractions and converse freely.
