Massive Power Outage Hits Almaty and Almaty Region

A widespread blackout struck several districts across Almaty and the Almaty region on August 14. Specialists from "Alatau Zharyk Company" are currently working to restore the electricity supply.

According to the company, an emergency shutdown of overhead power lines at 2:38 PM triggered the anti-fault automation system, leaving numerous consumers in the city and surrounding areas temporarily without power.

In the Almaty region, blackouts affected the Zhambyl, Balkhash, Yesik, Karasai, Shelek, Raiymbek, Uighur, Ile, Kegen, and Talgar districts. Meanwhile, in Almaty city, residents in the Bostandyk, Nauryzbay, Auezov, and Alatau districts experienced service interruptions.

Repair crews are fully deployed on-site, taking all necessary measures to bring the power grid back online as quickly as possible.
