Starting this year, a nationwide campaign aimed at preventing and combating domestic violence has been launched in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Organized under the President’s "Law and Order" concept and timed to International Children's Day, this initiative aims to establish a legal culture in society. Representatives of the Astana Akimat and the Police Department explained the mechanisms of the social and legal assistance system provided to victims.

Nazgul Makzhan, Deputy Chairperson of the Commission on Women's Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the Astana Akimat, noted that a specialized support infrastructure is continuously developing in the capital. Currently, crisis centers, psychological support services, and specialized police units for protecting women from violence are operating in the city.

According to Nazgul Makzhan, an interdepartmental interaction algorithm has been established between government agencies and the non-governmental sector. For instance, the "Zhanuya" Family Support Center in the capital provides comprehensive services ranging from restoring documents and obtaining social benefits to overcoming crisis situations. Additionally, since the beginning of the year, the Department for Child Rights Protection has been operating in Astana to prevent offenses.

Erkin Zhanabil, Deputy Chief of the Public Safety Department of the Astana Police Department, detailed the legal protection procedure for victims of domestic abuse. He stated that victims must first contact the police via the 102 hotline. A rapid response team, along with psychologists and social workers, will be dispatched to the scene to provide timely legal, medical, and psychological assistance.

Official representatives emphasized that special attention is given to minors who witness domestic offenses. Educators, psychologists, and profile government structures are involved in ensuring their psychological recovery and safety.

The nationwide campaign "Kazakhstan Without Domestic Violence" will continue until June 8 of this year.
