U.S. President Donald Trump has commented on the possibility of supplying additional missiles to Ukraine, emphasizing that Washington must prioritize its own military stockpiles. He made the remarks on August 6 during a White House press briefing.

When asked by a reporter whether the U.S. would provide Ukraine with much-needed long-range missiles and additional interceptors for the Patriot air defense system, the President responded succinctly, "We need missiles ourselves."

Trump criticized the previous administration under Joe Biden, claiming its extensive military aid to Ukraine depleted national ammunition reserves. He added that the U.S. is currently working to replenish these stocks, while assuring that the American military remains in strong standing with adequate defense resources.

The statement follows a recent call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who urged allied nations to deliver Patriot missiles immediately following a renewed Russian strike on Kyiv, stressing that air defense assets are critically needed right now.
