U.S. President Donald Trump has removed Attorney General Pam Bondi from her position. In a post on Truth Social, the President indicated that his decision was driven by dissatisfaction with Bondi’s performance, particularly regarding the release of files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

According to sources, Trump was also frustrated by Bondi’s perceived lack of speed in initiating criminal proceedings against his political adversaries. For the time being, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will lead the Department of Justice in an acting capacity. In his social media post, Trump praised Bondi as a "Great American Patriot," highlighting her efforts in combating crime and noting that she would soon transition to the private sector.

Pam Bondi’s tenure was marked by ongoing disputes surrounding the investigation documents of Jeffrey Epstein. She faced allegations of concealing or mismanaging records related to sex trafficking investigations into the financier. These criticisms were echoed by Trump’s allies and several Republican lawmakers.

In response, Pam Bondi stated that serving in the Trump administration had been the "honor of a lifetime." she confirmed that she would spend the next month transitioning her responsibilities to Todd Blanche. Blanche, who previously served as Trump’s personal lawyer, will now take command of the Justice Department.

White House officials stated that Trump had expressed his dissatisfaction with Bondi’s performance multiple times over the past several months. Currently, Lee Zeldin, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, is being considered as one of the primary candidates for the permanent Attorney General position.
