During a regular meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the results of the work for 2025 and issues regarding the human resources of the judicial system were discussed. Following the session, the Council recommended the dismissal of 17 judges based on various grounds.

According to the Chairman of the Council, Dmitriy Malakhov, significant steps have been taken to modernize the judicial corps and attract highly qualified lawyers. Specifically, a competition was announced last September for vacant positions in 10 regional courts, targeting specialists in specialized fields of law, including land, corporate, tax, and financial law. Thanks to explanatory online seminars, the number of applicants for the selection process nearly doubled compared to the previous year.

The meeting also highlighted the successful optimization of the Qualification Commission’s work. The examination process for judicial candidates has been streamlined, reducing the overall duration from 1.5 years to just three months. Additionally, the effectiveness of the personnel reserve has improved significantly; in 2025, 42 judges from the reserve were appointed to higher-ranking and leadership positions. An analysis of the Judicial Jury’s activities indicates the formation of a consistent disciplinary practice, with the number of appeals against their decisions decreasing by one-third.

As a result of the session, the Council recommended the dismissal of 17 judges on various grounds and extended the powers of two judges who had reached retirement age. Furthermore, appeals from three judges regarding disciplinary actions were reviewed; the Council found the Judicial Jury's original decisions to be well-founded and upheld them. Complete information regarding candidates recommended for appointment has been published on the Council's official website.
