The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in partnership with Stanford University HAI, OpenAI Academy, and Silkroad Innovation Hub, has launched a large-scale educational project titled "AI Leaders 2026." Under this program, more than 150 top managers from leading organizations in Kazakhstan and the region will master skills in AI governance and implementation.

The training course, which commenced on April 8, combines the academic foundation of Stanford University with the practical technological expertise of OpenAI. The program is conducted in an online format, featuring simultaneous interpretation in Kazakh, Uzbek, and Russian. The academic director of the program is the world-renowned scientist Peter Norvig.

The project involves first-tier leaders from Kazakhstan’s major state holdings and private enterprises, including:

• Public Sector: Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Baiterek Holding, and the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

• Finance & Tech: Halyk Bank, Freedom Holding, Kaspi.kz, Beeline, and Kcell.

• Industry & Construction: BI Group, Astana Motors, and Kazzinc.

The program has also expanded its reach to regional partner countries, including Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Turkey, and Qatar.

By the end of the course, each participant will develop a practical AI strategy tailored to the specific needs of their organization.

"This program paves the way for a new management model where digital transformation becomes the primary driver of the economy," noted Zhaslan Madiyev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.

Executives who successfully complete the training will receive Stanford HAI certificates and join a community of regional AI leaders. This initiative is closely aligned with Kazakhstan’s national strategy to remain among the top 20 global education systems.
