The Spanish government has officially refused to grant the United States access to its military bases for launching strikes against Iran. Furthermore, Madrid has ordered the expulsion of U.S. Air Force refueling tankers from its territory, as reported by the El País newspaper.

The Spanish government has made its opposition to the military actions led by the U.S. and Israel against Iran clear. Madrid has distanced itself from the positions of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, which expressed readiness for "proportionate offensive actions" in response to Tehran’s attacks on Persian Gulf countries and Cyprus.
Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares emphasized that Europe’s policy must be balanced:

"Europe's position should be aimed at de-escalation and a return to the negotiating table, rather than aggravating the situation," the Minister stated.

Earlier reports indicated that U.S. President Donald Trump was considering the use of overseas bases, including facilities in Europe, to conduct regional military operations effectively. Spain’s decision is expected to have a significant impact on Washington’s logistical and refueling plans.

Currently, Spain stands as one of the primary voices within the European Union advocating for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict rather than a military one.
