Following rumors circulating on social media regarding a supposed ban on carrying fruit baskets as carry-on baggage, SCAT Airlines has released an official statement to clarify its policies.

The carrier emphasized that these requirements are not new and have been in place for a significant period. The issue gained traction recently after travel agencies began warning passengers that fruit baskets must be transported exclusively in the aircraft's cargo hold and are subject to additional fees. This information sparked widespread discussion among travelers.

The SCAT Airlines press service explained that these rules are essential for flight safety and passenger comfort:

 "Each passenger is entitled to one piece of checked baggage and one item of carry-on baggage according to the established norms. If every passenger were to bring a fruit basket into the cabin in addition to their carry-on bag, there would be no space left in the overhead bins. Furthermore, the crew performs precise calculations regarding the aircraft's weight and balance to ensure safety," the company stated.

On SCAT Airlines (including SUNDAY Airlines) flights, the following standard allowances apply per passenger:

  • Free Checked Baggage: 23 kg (1 piece);
  • Carry-on Baggage: 10 kg (Free of charge).

The airline clarified that fruit baskets are not considered carry-on baggage and are not included in the free allowance. They must be transported in the cargo hold, and the registration and payment for these items must be handled at the check-in counter.

According to aviation experts, adhering to these regulations helps prevent flight delays and ensures orderly conduct inside the aircraft cabin.
