On the eve of spring, pink flamingos listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book have once again been spotted in the Mangystau region.

Local blogger Azamat Sarsenbayev captured the return of the birds on video and shared it on social media. According to him, the flamingos will remain in the area until mid-April. After that, they will head to the Korgalzhyn State Nature Reserve for nesting, mating, and egg-laying.

Experts note that pink flamingos make annual stops in western regions of the country during their seasonal migration. This natural phenomenon reflects the region’s biodiversity and the stability of its ecosystems.

Flamingos are among the rare and specially protected species. Minimizing human disturbance and preserving their natural habitat are crucial for ecological safety.
