Storm Warning Issued Across 17 Regions of Kazakhstan

Forecasters at "Kazhydromet" RMC have released the weather outlook for Monday, March 30. A storm warning remains in effect across the vast majority of the country.

According to official data, the passage of atmospheric fronts will bring a suite of hazardous natural phenomena, including fog, gusty winds, thunderstorms, and dust storms.

Regional Breakdown:

• North and East: Heavy fog is expected tonight and tomorrow morning in the Akmola and East Kazakhstan regions, specifically affecting the cities of Kokshetau and Oskemen. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution on highways due to significantly reduced visibility.

• Western Regions: Precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms is forecast for the Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, and Mangystau regions. Northeastern Mangystau may experience heavy rainfall. Fog is also likely in Atyrau and Oral.

• Southern Regions: A dust storm is anticipated in the northeastern part of the Zhambyl region, with wind speeds reaching 15–20 m/s. Fog will persist in mountainous areas during the night and morning hours.

• Central and East: Wind gusts of up to 18 m/s are expected in the Almaty and Aktobe regions.

The Department of Emergency Situations urges citizens to remain vigilant. If planning long-distance travel, ensure your vehicle is in good technical condition and monitor weather updates closely. During high winds, stay away from building walls and avoid standing near power lines
