Military Commander in Zhambyl Region Charged with Negligence Following Conscript's Death

The investigation into the criminal case involving a company commander following the death of conscript Yerkebulan Rustemuly in the Zhambyl region has been completed. This was officially announced by the press service of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office.

According to investigation records, the company commander of a military unit in the Gvardeiskiy garrison displayed negligence toward his duties. The official failed to monitor the performance of duties by personnel and the handling of weapons by soldiers. Furthermore, facts of abuse of power against the fallen soldier's comrades were established.

Necessary evidence was gathered in a short period, and the criminal case has been referred to court for consideration on its merits. Representatives of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office noted that investigative actions regarding other circumstances of the soldier's death are still ongoing.

As a reminder, Yerkebulan Rustemuly passed away on January 27 from a wound sustained while handling a weapon. Currently, the progress of the investigation remains under the special control of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office.
