Almaty to Welcome First Michelin-Starred Restaurant in 2026

Almaty authorities have officially confirmed plans to open a world-renowned restaurant in the city. According to Deputy Akim Olzhas Smagulov, a restaurant with existing international Michelin stars is expected to launch in the metropolis during 2026.

The city administration is currently holding active consultations with investors and restaurateurs from Europe, the U.S., and Asia. The strategy aims to attract global brands that will set new international standards for service and quality. Smagulov noted that the gastro-industry is a priority sector alongside the development of international retail chains. While the specific brand remains confidential, negotiations are expected to be finalized in the coming months.
