The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiyev, has announced that the country is prioritizing the advancement of autonomous technologies, reports BAQ.kz.

Kazakhstan plans to launch an experimental project for self-driving cars in collaboration with leading international technology firms. This initiative marks a significant step toward integrating high-tech transport solutions into the nation's infrastructure.

The project is scheduled for official launch in the second quarter of 2026. The government is currently establishing the necessary digital and physical infrastructure to support autonomous systems. In addition to passenger vehicles, a pilot project for delivery drones is already underway through private initiatives. These tests are designed to evaluate new models of urban mobility and modern logistics.

According to Minister Madiyev, these technological solutions will not only modernize the transport sector but also provide a testing ground for artificial intelligence in real-world urban environments.
