Kazakhstan is considering raising the salaries of medical personnel starting next year, according to First Vice Minister of Health Timur Sultangaziev, who spoke to reporters in the corridors of the Senate.

Sultangaziev noted that the necessary calculations have already been prepared and that the proposal is currently under governmental review.

“If the government approves, we plan to increase salaries starting next year. Various options are being considered, and the amounts are still being finalized,” he stated.

The Vice Minister emphasized that it is unacceptable to criticize paramedics and other medical personnel who appeal to management for improved working conditions and higher remuneration.

“Attacks on our colleagues—paramedics and other healthcare workers raising concerns about working conditions and pay—are unacceptable. The Minister has also made this point,” he underscored.

Sultangaziev provided current salary figures: the minimum wage for a paramedic ranges from 180,000 to 190,000 tenge, and, depending on experience, up to 260,000 tenge. Ambulance drivers earn between 160,000 and 180,000 tenge.

He also recalled that between 2020 and 2023, doctors’ salaries were increased by 30%, mid-level medical staff by 20%, and in 2024, the wages of non-medical personnel, including ambulance drivers, rose by 18%.

The final amount of the salary increase will be determined after coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
