The number of settlements embracing a healthy lifestyle and completely banning the sale of alcohol continues to grow under the "Sergek Auyl" (Sober Village) initiative. According to the press service of the East Kazakhstan Regional Akimat, the number of such villages has reached 26 this year. Notably, in 2025, there were 21 settlements in the region that had officially renounced alcohol products.

The latest addition to this list is the village of Bozsha, located in the Manyrak rural district of the Tarbagatay district, becoming the 26th "clean" village in the region. This noble initiative was spearheaded by the local youth, whose proposal to ban alcohol was unanimously supported by village elders and residents. Today, Bozsha - a community of 154 residents and approximately 60 households - has become a hub for sporting events, where a healthy lifestyle is an integral part of the daily culture.

According to official data, the criminogenic situation has significantly improved in settlements where the sale of alcohol is restricted. The Akimat's report highlights that villages without alcohol sales see a marked decrease in crime rates, particularly offenses committed under the influence. Furthermore, there has been a significant reduction in domestic conflicts and petty hooliganism. Consequently, the proactive stance of Bozsha village serves as an exemplary model for other regions in strengthening public safety and fostering a positive environment for the younger generation.
