At a government meeting on December 30, Minister of Justice Yerlan Sarsembayev presented the Legislative Action Plan for 2026. The document, based on proposals from government agencies, was approved on October 31 by the Interdepartmental Commission on Legislative Activities.

According to the Minister of Justice, the plan involves the drafting of 12 bills, three of which were initiated following presidential directives. These include amendments to legislation regarding state property, the regulation of online platforms and mass media, and corresponding changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses.

In addition, several independent bills are scheduled to be submitted to Parliament in 2026. These include:

• Natural Disasters: Compulsory housing insurance against natural disasters.

• Mobilization: New legislation regarding mobilization.

• Industry: The development of the petrochemical industry.

• Social Welfare: Improvements to labor legislation, the mandatory social insurance system, and social security.

The plan also includes the annual bill on the national budget for 2027–2029.

Yerlan Sarsembayev noted that five bills are scheduled to be introduced to Parliament in the first half of 2026, with the remaining seven to be submitted in the second half of the year.
