As part of the President's instructions to comprehensively study and preserve the Caspian Sea and ensure the region's ecological stability, the Government of Kazakhstan has allocated 1.1 billion tenge from its reserve to the "Caspian Sea Kazakh Research Institute" JSC. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov.

The allocated funds will be directed toward bolstering the institute's scientific potential. Key initiatives include:

  • Procurement of specialized equipment for continuous maritime monitoring.
  • Modernization of hydrobiological and hydrochemical laboratories, enabling advanced research.
  • Formation of a data bank based on scientifically grounded evidence regarding processes within the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.

Currently, the institute is expanding its collaboration with the global scientific community to develop effective ecological solutions. It is an active member of the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Littoral States.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has been tasked with taking the necessary measures to implement the decree. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Finance will oversee the targeted and efficient utilization of the budget funds.
