Kazakhstan Issues Travel Advisory to Saudi Arabia Amid Houthi Attacks

Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry has urged citizens in Saudi Arabia or planning to travel there to heighten security precautions and delay non-essential trips following an increase in attacks on civilian infrastructure.

Kazakh authorities advise citizens to strictly adhere to instructions from local leadership, avoid airports unless necessary, and verify flight statuses directly with airlines prior to travel. Furthermore, individuals are strongly encouraged to stay clear of crowded areas and potentially high-risk sites.

Kazakhstan has previously condemned Houthi strikes targeting Saudi civilian facilities, declaring that such actions violate international law and demanding an immediate end to the violence.

The advisory follows an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10, for which Houthis claimed responsibility. Initial reports indicated 12 fatalities, with the toll later rising to 13 dead and over 300 injured.

The strikes have severely disrupted air travel, forcing Riyadh Airport to suspend operations and prompting several international carriers to pause or postpone flights to Saudi Arabia.

In case of emergency, Kazakh citizens are advised to contact the Embassy in Riyadh or the Consulate General in Jeddah.
