Suspects Identified in Mangystau Military Tragedy: Over 30 Witnesses Interrogated

A comprehensive criminal investigation is underway into the deaths of servicemen during military exercises in the Mangystau Region. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan has initiated a specialized inquiry to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

Preliminary investigative findings indicate that the failure to observe basic safety protocols during the training maneuvers directly contributed to the disaster. Authorities suspect responsible officials of gross negligence and a failure to account for adverse meteorological conditions. Furthermore, critical procedural violations were identified in the organization and execution of emergency search-and-rescue operations.

An interdepartmental investigative team has concluded its initial examination of the scene and interrogated more than 30 military personnel. Investigators have seized all relevant documentation and video recordings, while ordering 12 forensic examinations. The Prosecutor General's Office confirmed that a complete legal assessment will be rendered regarding the actions of all involved individuals, with appropriate procedural measures to follow under the law.
