One of the Kazakhstani citizens reported missing following the devastating floods in Nepal has been located in Kazakhstan, having postponed their trip prior to the disaster. Meanwhile, efforts to determine the fate of two other citizens remain ongoing, according to official statements from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Following the catastrophic flooding along the border region between Nepal and China, communication was initially lost with three Kazakhstani nationals - two believed to be in Nepal and one in Tibet. Official Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zhanbolat Ussenov, confirmed that contact has been established with one of the individuals.

"We managed to get in touch with one of our citizens who was reported missing in Nepal. It turned out they had postponed their visit to the affected region and are currently in Kazakhstan," Ussenov stated.

The whereabouts of the remaining two Kazakhstani nationals remain unknown. Relatives have already completed necessary identification procedures, including submitting samples for DNA analysis. On October 5, Nepalese authorities officially called off search and rescue operations within their borders. Rescue efforts and search operations continue in the neighboring Tibetan region.

The disaster near the Nepal-China border has claimed more than 1,500 lives, with over 5,000 individuals still officially listed as missing.
