The Presidium of the newly formed People's Council of Kazakhstan held its inaugural session under the chairmanship of Erlan Koshanov to formalize its internal structure and chart out key operational priorities. The meeting addressed the strategic objectives outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, officializing the appointments for three standing committees and the Ethics Commission.

Designed as a key constitutional body, the People's Council serves to bridge the gap between citizens and state authorities while fostering national unity and public engagement in governance. Addressing the session, Koshanov highlighted that the Council must deliver concrete results to justify its presidential mandate and give citizens a stronger voice in national affairs.

The Presidium officially confirmed the leadership for its primary committees:

  • Public Initiatives Development Committee: Vera Kim

  • Social Accord and National Unity Committee: Marat Azilkhanov

  • Regional Development and Local Self-Government Committee: Tabigat Zeinulkabden

Alongside Council leadership and committee chairs, the Presidium panel features Bekmurat Zhusipov, Narine Mikaelyan, Denis Rypakov, and Nurtay Sabilyanov.

To handle the anticipated influx of civic proposals, Council member Bagdat Mussin proposed launching a unified digital platform. The system will collect, process, and track public submissions from all regions in real time, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Additionally, the Council aims to streamline Kazakhstan's existing network of advisory bodies. By centralizing overlapping advisory functions into one cohesive platform, the institution seeks to establish a modernized culture of dialogue between the public and the state.
