Kazakhstan’s Kuryltai will hold a hearing in December on digitalization and artificial intelligence, calling on IT and AI experts to submit concrete projects and proposals ahead of the event.

The hearing will assess the country’s progress in digitalization and examine how technology can be used to address challenges in key sectors of the economy.

“We plan to discuss specific projects and proposals that could help strengthen Kazakhstan’s potential for digital transformation,” said Darkhan Akhmediev, chairman of the Kuryltai Committee on Digitalization, Innovation and Science.

He said the impact of digitalization should be reflected in people’s everyday lives as well as in the operations of businesses.

“We need concrete projects that can increase production, reduce costs and boost companies’ revenues. At the upcoming hearing, we will not only identify the problems but also seek practical solutions,” Akhmediev said.

Citizens and experts can submit their projects and proposals through the official Kuryltai website until Oct. 10. Applicants should select the relevant working group through a dedicated section on the website’s homepage.

The proposals will be reviewed and categorized by the working groups starting Oct. 11.

The hearing will be held as part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence declared by Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. The country has also approved the Digital Qazaqstan national strategy through 2029, which aims to expand the use of artificial intelligence across the economy and modernize manufacturing and other key sectors.
