Residents of Kazakhstan will be greeted by a sharp weather shift and frosty conditions in the opening days of September. A cold atmospheric front is sweeping across several regions of the country, bringing the first autumn surprise as nighttime temperatures drop as low as minus three degrees. According to Kazhydromet specialists, rain may gradually turn into sleet in the northern, eastern, and central parts of the republic on September 1–2. Additionally, thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and hail are possible in the mountainous areas of Almaty region.

However, this cold wave will give way to daytime warming. Such daily fluctuations will cause residents to experience significant temperature contrasts. Specifically, nighttime temperatures in the north and east will range from 0 to +5 degrees Celsius, with frost expected to reach -3 degrees in some areas. During the day, the weather will warm up gradually, reaching +25 to +35 degrees in the southern regions. Meanwhile, summer heat will persist for now in the western areas and Mangystau region.
