City and district conscription boards across Kazakhstan have officially launched the autumn military draft campaign. According to the Ministry of Defense, in accordance with the decree of the President, nearly 23,000 citizens aged 18 to 27 will be called up for mandatory military service by the end of December.

Nearly half of the conscripts - more than 12,000 young men - will join the ranks of the Armed Forces. Additionally, around 7,000 citizens will be drafted into the National Guard, 3,000 into the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee, nearly 400 into the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and over 300 into the State Security Service. Citizens can verify all personal military registration details online via their personal account on the eGov portal.

Notably, active-duty soldiers are granted deferment on loan payments during their period of service. Furthermore, upon completing their term, veterans have the opportunity to enroll in higher education institutions on state grants without sitting for the Unified National Testing (UNT). Conscripts can also acquire over 20 job specializations highly in demand in the labor market - such as drivers, communications specialists, paramedics, and excavator operators—free of charge alongside their military training.
