Heavy Floods in Nepal Claim 469 Lives

The death toll from severe flooding that struck Nepal's Rasuwa district early Wednesday morning has risen to 469, according to official statements from Nepal Police.

The disaster affected multiple regions, with Chitwan district sustaining the heaviest casualties at 178 fatalities. Search and rescue teams have also recovered bodies in several other areas, including Navalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) with 110, Gorkha with 44, Nuwakot with 37, Dhading with 33, Tanahun with 28, Navalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) with 27, and Rasuwa district with 12.

Search and rescue operations remain underway. Currently, 28 Nepal Police officers involved in the disaster response are listed as missing.
