A significant financial change is on the horizon for bank clients as Halyk Bank prepares to increase its fees for card-to-card money transfers made to other banks via phone number. The updated tariff schedule will officially take effect on November 27.

According to the financial institution, the fee for this service within the retail mobile application will jump from 200 to 250 tenge, marking a 25 percent increase. The bank attributes this adjustment to market conditions and a continued commitment to maintaining high service standards and system reliability. However, this decision may draw criticism from customers, particularly since several other major banks currently offer phone-based interbank transfers completely free of charge.

The fee hike comes at a time when the bank's earnings have experienced a slight downturn. Previously released financial reports for the first half of 2026 revealed that Halyk Bank’s net profit dropped by 15.3 percent year-on-year to 447.6 billion tenge, a shift influenced by stricter regulatory requirements introduced by the National Bank.
