The deputies of the Kurultai of Kazakhstan overwhelmingly supported the candidacy nominated by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a plenary session of the parliament.

As a reminder, the institution of the vice presidency was re-established under the updated Constitution to strengthen the public administration system, ensure harmony among government bodies, and monitor the implementation of strategic reforms.

Throughout his term of office, the Vice President is prohibited from holding a deputy mandate, occupying any other paid positions, engaging in entrepreneurial activities, or maintaining membership in a political party. Should the President voluntarily resign, become unable to perform official duties due to health reasons, be removed from office, or pass away, presidential authority will transfer to the Vice President.
