Kazakhstan plans to launch new airports in Zaysan, Katon-Karagay, and Kenderli by May 2027. This was outlined in a report presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin during a government meeting.

Additionally, construction of a second airport in Astana is scheduled to begin in June 2027, with plans to partner with a major international company for the project.

These initiatives are included in the draft Nationwide Action Plan aimed at implementing the Head of State's Address delivered on October 28, 2026. The draft encompasses 96 measures across 12 strategic areas, 80 of which fall under the responsibility of the Government.

Transportation and logistics initiatives extend beyond air infrastructure. The "Bakhty – Ayagoz" railway line is targeted for commissioning by the end of 2027.

Efforts will also continue on the construction and reconstruction of regional and national highways, including the "Aral – Caspian" and "Kokshetau – Petropavl" routes.

Furthermore, the roadmap foresees the complete modernization of all border checkpoints and a transition to electronic documentation for freight transport via an intelligent transport system.
