The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and 36 other high-ranking officials on charges of genocide and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. This decision marks one of the most significant legal steps on the international stage in recent years.
Among those named in the warrants are Defense Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, IDF Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir, and Naval Commander David Saar Salama.
The Turkish prosecutor's office has requested prison sentences ranging from 1,102 years to 4,596 years.
The charges include genocide, crimes against humanity, unlawful deprivation of liberty, ill-treatment, destruction of property, looting, and obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid.
