The head of the White House warned that if the strategic waterway is not reopened by the evening of April 7, Tehran will be engulfed in “hellfire.” According to Reuters, this statement indicates that tensions in the Middle East have reached their peak, reports Reuters.

On his Truth Social network, Trump wrote: “Open that strait, or you will be living in hell!”

According to Reuters, the deadline previously set for April 6 was extended by another 20 hours and moved to Tuesday evening.

Shortly after this statement, powerful explosions occurred south of Tehran. Iranian state media reported that at least 13 people were killed in a strike on a residential building.

The Iranian side did not remain idle, intensifying strikes on energy facilities in Persian Gulf countries. Petrochemical plants in Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE were attacked, and the Kuwait Petroleum company reported significant material damage. Additionally, a strike was carried out on a vessel with ties to Israel at the Jebel Ali port in Dubai.

As a result of the tension, world oil prices rose sharply, with Brent crude exceeding $110 per barrel.

Despite his harsh rhetoric, Trump stated on Fox News that negotiations with Iran are ongoing through intermediaries. According to him, the parties might reach a common deal as early as April 6. Currently, mediators are discussing the establishment of a 45-day temporary truce to transition toward a full cessation of the war.

Trump also shared details about a dangerous operation conducted by U.S. Special Forces inside Iranian territory. American soldiers rescued the navigator of a downed F-15 aircraft and destroyed the equipment on-site to prevent secret technologies from falling into enemy hands.

As a reminder, the war by the U.S. and Israel against Iran began on February 28 and has lasted for over five weeks. According to Reuters, this conflict has claimed the lives of thousands of people in Iran and Lebanon.
