World Cup 2026: FIFA introduces cheaper tickets

FIFA has added a new ticket category called Supporter Entry Tier for the 2026 World Cup. These tickets fall into the lowest price category and start at $60, Reuters reports. The discounted tickets will be valid for all 104 matches of the tournament, including the final, but their number is limited.

The cheapest tickets account for only 10% of the quota allocated to participating national football associations (PMAs). National associations will distribute the tickets to their “loyal fans” and set their own selection criteria. If a team fails to advance to the knockout stage, administrative fees will be waived when tickets are refunded.

However, the European football fans’ organization has criticized the ticket prices, saying they remain too high and that the distribution process lacks transparency. Accessibility for fans with disabilities is also a concern: the cheapest option to attend the final could cost $7,000, and up to $14,000 when including companion seating.

FIFA has opened sales for the third ticket phase from December 11 to January 13.
