The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kanat Bozumbayev, announced during a briefing at the Government House when air taxi services will begin transporting passengers in Kazakhstan.

On May 19, the initial test flight of the aerotaxi was successfully carried out in the city of Alatau. According to Bozumbayev, the Ministry of Transport has developed special temporary regulatory rules to legally regulate and implement this innovative project.

However, due to safety requirements, the aircraft will operate exclusively without passengers in a testing mode during the current year.

"This entire year, we will be flying without people because there are a great number of routes. In the future, they will connect with the mountain cluster, Almaty's airport and train stations, the reservoir in Konaev, and other facilities. All of this needs to be flown over and studied. It is crucial to monitor the required flight altitudes and climatic features across all four seasons. This is a matter of safety, as there are aeromagnetic fields and high-voltage lines along the routes. Therefore, passenger transportation is not expected this year," the Vice Prime Minister clarified.

The government official noted that this technology is already being successfully utilized in the People's Republic of China and the United States. In this regard, Kazakhstan is attracting qualified foreign specialists to implement the project in accordance with international standards.

According to Kanat Bozumbayev, if all technical and climatic tests are completed successfully, the first aerial trips involving passengers could begin next year.
