Where and When to Watch Shaidorov’s Gala Performance at the Olympics?

Mikhail Shaidorov, the Kazakhstani figure skater and Olympic gold medalist at the Milan Games, will participate in the ceremonial Gala Exhibition in Italy. This was reported by the official website of the Olympic Games.

The Gala Concert will begin on February 21 at 8:00 PM local time. The 2.5-hour show will feature winners and medalists from all figure skating disciplines, as well as top athletes from the team competitions.

Mikhail Shaidorov will present a specially prepared exhibition routine inspired by the animated film "Kung Fu Panda." The athlete noted that this character holds great significance for him.

"I plan to perform to 'Kung Fu Panda.' This was actually one of my main goals for these Olympic Games – to perform 'Kung Fu Panda' at the gala. It is my favorite character. The Panda is a powerful Dragon Warrior on one hand, but on the other, he is clumsy, funny, and loves to eat. I think these core qualities resonate within us as well," Shaidorov shared in an interview with the Qazsport TV channel.

On the Milan ice, Mikhail will be joined by world-class stars, including Ilya Malinin (USA), Yuma Kagiyama (Japan), Adam Siao Him Fa (France), Madison Chock and Evan Bates (USA), and other renowned figure skaters. The participants for the women’s single skating have not yet been finalized.

Fans in Kazakhstan can watch the live broadcast of the Gala Concert on the "Jibek Joly" TV channel on February 21 at 11:55 PM (Astana time).

As a reminder, on February 14, 21-year-old Mikhail Shaidorov scored 198.64 points in the free program (with a total score of 291.58), becoming the first-ever Olympic champion in figure skating in the history of Kazakhstan.
