WhatsApp to Launch New Feature for Summarizing Unread Messages

The popular messaging platform WhatsApp is currently testing a new artificial intelligence-based feature designed to streamline the user communication experience. According to reports from WabeTaInfo, the application will soon include a dedicated function that provides brief summaries of unread chat content.

The new feature is powered by Meta AI technology. When a user returns to a chat with a high volume of unread messages after an absence, the messenger will offer a concise summary of the conversation instead of requiring the user to read through every individual text.

Developers have placed a high priority on data privacy. Message processing is conducted directly on the user's device using Private Processing technology. This ensures that neither WhatsApp nor Meta can access the content of the messages, and no personal data is transmitted to cloud servers for summarization.

Currently, the feature is under development in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. Simultaneously, the company is working on implementing this technology for the iOS (iPhone) platform. Once the testing phase is complete, the function is expected to become available to all users in a future update.
