A comprehensive development plan for the veterinary sector spanning 2026–2030 has been officially approved. The document outlines a substantial salary increase for veterinary workers, large-scale digitalization of the industry, and the expansion of export opportunities for domestic producers.

The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. The primary objective of the document is to build a high-quality veterinary safety system capable of ensuring the sustainable development of livestock farming in the country.

The veterinary sector in Kazakhstan plays a key role in securing national food safety and protecting public health. Zooanthroponotic diseases - infections transmitted from animals to humans - pose a real threat to both the agricultural sector and public health.

Salary Increase: The payroll fund for employees of veterinary organizations subordinated to local executive bodies will increase by 1.5 to 2.5 times.

Currently, 67 veterinary control posts operate in the border zones across the country. In 2026, state veterinary and sanitary inspectors inspected approximately 60,000 vehicles transporting more than 700,000 tons of livestock products as part of import, export, and transit operations.
