In a significant diplomatic shift, the United States has decided to suspend bombings and other military strikes against Iran for a duration of two weeks. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the decision on the Truth Social platform.

According to the President, the move followed intensive consultations with Pakistan. A primary condition of the truce is the guarantee of free and safe passage for vessels through the strategic Strait of Hormuz during this period.

Trump stated that the U.S. has not only fulfilled its primary military objectives but has "exceeded" its goals. Furthermore, he noted that Washington is currently discussing the possibility of a long-term peace agreement with Tehran. According to U.S. sources, Iran has proposed a 10-point roadmap for further negotiations.

A U.S. official confirmed the cessation of strikes to The New York Times, while CNN reports that Israel has also agreed to the two-week hiatus.

On the other side, Tehran expressed its readiness for the temporary truce. According to the Fars news agency, Iranian authorities have framed the situation as a "victory," presenting their own plan which includes demands for the lifting of sanctions and the introduction of transit fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In response to these developments, Akorda reported that Kazakhstan's Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has officially supported the decision for a truce between the United States and Iran.
