US President Donald Trump sharply criticized several key allies, including Australia, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, and France, for refusing to support a military operation against Iran.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the United States no longer needs support from partners who, in his view, have long relied on Washington’s protection without offering enough in return.

The criticism followed statements from European leaders. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized that London would not allow the country to be drawn into a large-scale war, while French President Emmanuel Macron ruled out Paris’s participation in operations to unblock the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump described NATO as a "one-way street," once again raising questions about the unity of the alliance and the future of security in the Persian Gulf in 2026.
