Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official statement in response to Kazakhstan’s protest regarding attacks on the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).

In its statement, the Ukrainian MFA emphasized that none of Kyiv’s actions are directed against Kazakhstan or any other third country.

“Ukraine has taken note of the concerns expressed by the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.

None of the actions undertaken by the Ukrainian side are aimed against Kazakhstan or any other state. All our efforts are focused on repelling Russia’s large-scale aggression and exercising our right to self-defense within the framework of international law,” the statement reads.

The Ukrainian side also recalled that Kazakhstan had previously remained silent regarding Russia’s strikes on Ukraine.

“We note the absence of statements from Kazakhstan condemning Russia’s attacks on civilians, residential buildings, and energy infrastructure in Ukraine, including substations of nuclear power plants,” the MFA of Ukraine stated.

Kyiv called on all countries to help stop Russia’s war and reiterated its respect for the people of Kazakhstan, as well as its commitment to developing friendly and pragmatic relations.

“We hold deep respect for the people of Kazakhstan and remain committed to strengthening friendly relations that correspond to the level of historical ties between our countries,” the statement said.

As a reminder, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry had earlier expressed protest to Ukraine over the strikes on CPC facilities.
