Due to the escalating situation in Iran, the Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has suspended its flights to Almaty and several other international destinations until the end of February.

According to a statement released by the airline, all scheduled flights to Tbilisi, Almaty, Baku, and Tashkent have been cancelled through February 28, 2026. The primary cause for this disruption is the mass protest actions that erupted in Iran in late 2025, leading to the temporary closure of the country's airspace.

This decision, taken strictly for safety and security reasons, follows similar restrictions imposed by other major global carriers, including Lufthansa and ITA Airways.

IndiGo officially launched its regular flight service between Delhi and Almaty in 2023. The current suspension marks a significant interruption in the growing air connectivity between India and Central Asia due to regional geopolitical instability.
