The quality and accessibility of internet services in Kazakhstan are set for a major transformation. According to Minister of Digital Development Jaslan Madiev, pilot testing for satellite internet is scheduled to begin in 2026 on KTZ trains and Air Astana flights. To support this initiative, two additional international satellite operators will enter the market to provide connectivity to remote tourist destinations and rural areas.

As part of infrastructure development over the next two years, mobile connectivity will be installed along 40,000 kilometers of highways, and 5G network coverage will expand to 75% in 20 major cities. Furthermore, through the "Last Mile" project, fiber-optic lines will be extended to more than 3,000 villages and approximately 400,000 households. These measures aim to provide 99% of the population with high-speed internet access, elevating the country’s digital ecosystem to a new level.
