The State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced temporary traffic restrictions on the streets of the capital in connection with a series of high-profile international political events.

Schedule of International Events

From April 20 to April 24, Astana will host several major international forums and official state visits, requiring heightened security measures:

• April 20–23: The President of Mongolia will conduct an official state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

• April 22–24: The capital will host the Regional Environmental Summit (#RES2026). The event is expected to draw heads of state, government leaders, and chiefs of major international organizations.

• April 22: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will chair a meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

To ensure the safety of visiting dignitaries and participants, traffic on certain streets and sections of the city will be restricted in stages.

The State Security Service (SGO) urges residents and guests of the capital to view these security measures with understanding. Commuters are strongly advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid potential traffic congestion and delays.
