The Ministry of Transport has approved significant changes to the payment procedures for toll roads in Kazakhstan, offering drivers more flexibility and a longer grace period to avoid penalties.

Previously, drivers were required to pay toll fees within 7 days of using a toll road. Failure to do so by the 8th day resulted in the case being forwarded to transport control authorities for administrative action.

Key Changes to Payment Deadlines

According to the new regulations:

• For Individuals: Drivers now have 30 days to settle their toll debts. Materials for administrative fines will only be forwarded to the authorities on the 31st day.

• For Legal Entities: A separate schedule has been established. Companies must complete payments by the 20th day of the month following the reporting month.

Fine Amounts for 2026

The Ministry reminded citizens that the penalties for non-payment of toll fees in 2026 remain as follows:

• Individuals: 5 MCI (21,625 tenge)

• Legal Entities: 10 MCI (43,250 tenge)

The Ministry of Transport stated that these amendments were introduced to provide drivers with more time to manage their payments and reduce the immediate burden of administrative fines. The order will officially come into force 10 days after its first formal publication.
