President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s official visit to Japan, it is planned to sign commercial agreements totaling over $3.7 billion, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration and Presidential Press Secretary Ruslan Zheldibay reported.

The President will hold private meetings in Tokyo with representatives of major Japanese businesses. During the visit, more than 40 documents are expected to be signed. The agreements will cover key sectors such as energy, renewable energy, digitalization, mining, and transportation.

On the Kazakh side, the documents will be signed by Samruk-Kazyna, KEGOC, Kazatomprom, Tau-Ken Samruk, Kazpost, and KTJ. On the Japanese side, companies including Marubeni, MUFG Bank, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi Energy, Toshiba, JOGMEC, Kansai Electric Power, and RIKEN KOGYO will participate.

“President Tokayev’s visit program to Japan is full of official negotiations and business meetings,” Zheldibay wrote.

The official visit is scheduled for December 18–20. During this period, President Tokayev will meet with Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, and representatives of Japanese business circles. In addition, the President will participate in the Central Asia–Japan Summit.
