Following the referendum on the new draft Constitution, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed several pressing questions from journalists. The Head of State clarified the timing of the next presidential election and put an end to rumors regarding the creation of a vice-presidential position.

The President gave a firm response to many political experts who interpreted the constitutional reform as "preparation for a power transition." According to Tokayev, the next presidential election will take place in 2029, as scheduled in accordance with the current Constitution.

The introduction of the vice-presidential post under the new Constitution has sparked significant public debate. The President acknowledged that he is aware of the various rumors surrounding this new role:

"Some experts are concerned that competition within the government is intensifying and that various trends are emerging. However, there is no reason to fear that this situation will negatively impact society," stated the Head of State.

Tokayev emphasized that the introduction of the vice-president position is aimed at strengthening the public administration system. This move is intended to ensure the stability of state power institutions in the future. The President expressed great confidence in both this new role and the ongoing reforms.
