A press conference dedicated to the grand finale of the international Silk Way Star vocal competition was held at the Central Communications Service under the President in Astana. This was the first Asian mega-project that brought together the best performers from 12 countries.

According to the final results, Mongolia’s representative Michelle Joseph became the winner. She received high praise from both the audience and the judges. The voting results were determined through a mixed system: 50% audience votes and 50% judges’ scores.

A total of 508,287 viewers voted for the contestants. This is considered one of the highest figures in the history of vocal TV projects in the region.

“Silk Way Star brought together Asia’s rich cultural diversity and showcased a new level of mutual understanding and dialogue between countries through music. The strong audience engagement proves the growing interest in international formats,” said Yerkezhan Kuntugan, Managing Director of the ‘Jibek Joly / Silk Way’ TV channel.

The audience voting results were as follows:

  • Michelle Joseph (Mongolia) – 112,241 votes
  • Madinabonu Adylova (Uzbekistan) – 85,443
  • Zhang He Xuan (China) – 73,662
  • Yasmin Aziz (Malaysia) – 73,609
  • Saro Gevorgyan (Armenia) – 73,160
  • Avtandil Abeslamidze (Georgia) – 46,027
  • ALEM (Kazakhstan) – 32,145

Viewers from 43 countries took part in the voting. Among the most active were Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, the USA, Russia, Türkiye, and Malaysia.

The Silk Way Star finale was broadcast live on Jibek Joly TV, as well as on TV channels in Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and other countries. In total, approximately 120 million viewers watched the show through television and streaming platforms.
