The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan has responded to questions regarding the “Secret Santa” game.

According to the organization, the concept of “Secret Santa” does not exist in Islam or in traditional Kazakh culture. The administration noted that promoting national traditions and Islamic values that strengthen unity and mutual respect is more appropriate than adopting practices from other cultures.

“There is no concept of ‘Secret Santa’ in our religion or traditions. Emphasizing national values and Islamic principles is more appropriate,” the statement said.

The Spiritual Administration also warned that such games may be viewed negatively if they involve activities prohibited in Islam, including alcohol consumption, inappropriate interaction between men and women
